As we begin the 66th year of fund-raising, the Angelina County United Way continues its main focus of ensuring our friends and neighbors have the basic necessities of life – food, clothing and shelter.
The volunteers of United Way know there are many in our community who struggle every day to provide for their families, and everyone’s donation, no matter how small, helps those in need have a place and people to count on.
It only takes a few minutes to make a single donation to the United Way, which in turn provides funds to 23 hard working non-profit agencies.
Each of the agencies has a special place in this community, and each provides a service that is unmatched by any other. We are lucky to have such tremendous non-profit groups that provide services day and night for those in need.
The United Way Budget Committee will begin it’s work in June by visiting each agency to discuss its budget and needs for the coming year. In July the Budget Committee will determine the overall goal and the amount each agency will receive based on the goal raised.
Volunteers are always needed to help through this process. Please contact Carla Hight at (936) 632-3203 if you would like to help your community through United Way.
